How the Scorecard Works
Transparency is the foundation of trust. Here's exactly how every score is calculated.
Assessment framework
Each municipality is assessed across a fixed set of weighted indicators. An assessor records a score for an indicator along with supporting evidence. Only verified assessments affect any public ranking.
Indicators and weights
| Indicator | Weight |
|---|---|
| Waste Collection | 25 pts |
| Drainage | 20 pts |
| Markets | 15 pts |
| Public Spaces | 15 pts |
| Citizen Satisfaction | 15 pts |
| Institutional Responsiveness | 10 pts |
Active indicator weights currently total 100 points.
Verification process
- 1An assessor records a score for an indicator, with comments and photo/video/document evidence.
- 2The submission is marked Verified once it's reviewed against the evidence.
- 3Only verified assessments are counted. Pending or rejected submissions never affect a public score.
- 4A municipality's overall score is the sum of its latest verified score on each active indicator.
How often are scores updated?
As soon as an administrator verifies a new assessment, the affected municipality, region, and national rankings update automatically.
Can a score go down?
Yes. Each indicator score reflects the most recent verified assessment, so a decline in performance is reflected the next time that indicator is reassessed.
What grade bands are used?
A+ (90+), A (85-89), A- (80-84), B+ (75-79), B (70-74), B- (65-69), C (60-64), D (50-59), F (below 50).
